Brad Jakeman

Brad Jakeman is a corporate executive that has served as a President of PepsiCo’s Global Beverage Group, and previously held executive positions at Citigroup, Macy’s and Activision Blizzard.

Early life

Brad Jakeman was born and raised in Australia. He received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and mass communications from Macquarie University in 1989.[1]

Career

In 1998, Jakeman joined Ogilvy & Mather as a partner in New York City, supervising the account for American Express. In 2006, he then became the managing director of global advertising at Citigroup.[2] Jakeman then became the EVP-corporate marketing of Macy’s. He was hired in 2008 to Activision Blizzard as the company’s Chief Creative Officer.[3]

Jakeman last served as the chief marketing officer of Activision Blizzard,[1] before moving to PepsiCo. By 2012 Jakeman had become the Global Beverages Group president of PepsiCo.[4] While with the company he led the company’s in-house content arm the Creative League Studio.[5] While at Pepsi, Jakeman was named the “Advertising Person of The Year” by the Ad Club of New York in 2015.[6] He has also been named one of the “most indispensable executives in marketing, media and tech” by Adweek magazine.[7]

Jakeman left his position of president at President of PepsiCo’s Global Beverage Group in 2017,[8] though remained a senior advisor to the company.[9] He also started his own consultancy firm.[5] In 2020, joined the Boston Consulting Group as a senior adviser.[8] He is now the co-founder and managing partner of Rethink Food.[10] His work has included advising brands on augmenting tradition advertising techniques to address changing contemporary contexts.[9]
