Bimbisara (film)
Bimbisara is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language fantasy action drama film written and directed by Mallidi Vashist starring Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Catherine Tresa and Samyuktha Menon. The film is produced by Hari Krishna K under the N. T. R. Arts banner. Kalyan Ram is playing the barbaric ruler of Magadha, based on the Haryanka dynasty in 5th century.[1]

Production
Development
The film was launched in 2020 under the tentative title #NKR18. In May 2021, the title of the film was revealed to be Bimbisara.[2][3][4] Initially the film was supposed to be stand-alone film, however due to the length of story the film is reported to be now be made into two parts.[1][5]
Filming
Principal photography began in 2020.[3] Filming was halted and delayed during the second wave of COVID-19 in India and resumed shooting in mid 2021.[3]
Soundtrack
Originally the background score and songs were supposed to be composed by Santosh Narayan, while Chirantan Bhatt was to compose the songs for the film.[6] However, due to unknown reasons, they were replaced by M. M. Keeravani to do both the music and background score for this film.[7]
Release
Bimbisara originally was scheduled to release in November 2021 but it was delayed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.[5] The film is now scheduled to release on 5 August 2022.[8]
