Besby Holmes
Lieutenant Colonel Besby Frank Holmes (1917–2006) was a World War II fighter pilot who in 1943 took part in the famous mission to kill legendary Japanese admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, who planned the attack on Pearl Harbor. Holmes died of a stroke July 23 at Marin General Hospital in Greenbrae, California.
