Following CSX's purchase of Pan Am Systems, PSR — doing business as B&E — will operate and maintain the rail lines formerly owned by Pan Am Southern and operated by Pan Am Railways.[2]

Surface Transportation Board approval of the formation and operation of B&E was contingent on the Board's approval of CSX's purchase of Pan Am Systems.[1] The Board approved the CSX–Pan Am deal on April 14, 2022.[3] A start date for B&E operation of the former Pan Am Southern lines has been set as June 1, 2022.
