National final

The Belgian national final to select their entries, was held on 15 April 1956 at 20:40 CET. Ten songs from six acts took part in the contest, however, it is known only about 7 participating songs. Ten competing entries first faced a jury vote where one song was selected as one of the two winners: "Messieurs les noyés de la Seine", performed by Fud Leclerc. Then, second winner was selected from the remaining nine entries by the public postcard voting: "Le plus beau jour de ma vie", performed by Mony Marc.[1][2]
