Behrooz Rezvani

Behrooz Rezvani is an American entrepreneur and telecommunications engineer. He is the CEO and co-founder of Neural Propulsion Systems. He co-founded the public companies Ikanos Communications (bought by Qualcomm Atheros) and Quantenna (acquired by ON Semiconductor, as well as the private company Seyyer. He has a PhD in Quantum Devices from Marquette University. He has more than 40 patents in the US.

Education

Rezvani majored in math at Hamline University. He later earned a BSEE degree from North Dakota State University. He obtained an M.S. degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of North Dakota and a Ph.D. from Marquette University.[1]

Professional career

In his early career, Rezvani held managing positions at GE, Siemens and Rockwell. From 1991 to 1996 he worked for Eriksson as a project manager. In August 1996, he joined Advanced Fibre Communications (AFC) where he managed the AFC advanced design center located in Fremont, California.

In 1999 Rezvani founded Ikanos Communications, where he served as CTO. While at Ikanos, he was granted dozens of patents related to digital communications systems.[2] Rezvani remained on the board of directors until June 2004. The company was acquired in 2015 by Qualcomm Atheros.[3]

In 2006 Rezvani founded, and served as CEO and chairman of Quantenna Communications, a company focused on wireless communications. While there, Revzani acquired more than a dozen patents in the area of wireless signals for communication.[4] The company was acquired in 2015 by ON Semiconductor.[5] Rezvani was succeeded as CEO in May 2009, but remained president and chairman of the board.[6]

In January 2011, Rezvani launched his third company, Seyyer, based in Palo Alto.[7] Seyyer was a cognitive video-recognition platform that created a human video avatar using speech-modelling and gesture-recognition technologies.[8]

In 2017 Rezvani co-founded Neural Propulsion Systems (NPS) and serves as its CEO.[9] NPS developed a fusion sensor platform called "Zero Accidents Sensing Platform", to enable autonomous driving capabilities on cars and other vehicles.[10][11] The company launched from stealth in February 2021 with its first product, NPS 500, an AI-powered sensing platform that combines proprietary new technologies for radar and LiDAR to see around corners, with a range of 500m.[11]

Other business activities

Rezvani has been editor of xDSL coexistence, the Spectral Compatibility and Management standards of the American National Standards Institute. He is on the board of directors of 7Summits, a Milwaukee-based social business agency.[12] He is also a partner at German venture capital firm Grazia Equity, and a senior advisor at telecommunications firm Liberty Global.
