Arne Dür

Arne Dür (born 10 July 1959) is an Austrian chess International Master (IM) (1982).

Biography

From the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s Arne Dür was one of the leading Austrian chess players. He has participated many times in the Austrian Chess Championships finals. In 1981/1982 Arne Dür won Reggio Emilia chess tournament.

Arne Dür played for Austria in the European Team Chess Championship preliminaries:[2]

  • In 1983, at sixth board in the 8th European Team Chess Championship preliminaries (+1, =2, -1).

Arne Dür played for Austria in the World Youth U26 Team Chess Championship:[3]

  • In 1981, at first board in the 3rd World Youth U26 Team Chess Championship in Graz (+4, =2, -5),
  • In 1983, at first board in the 4th World Youth U26 Team Chess Championship in Chicago (+2, =8, -1).

Arne Dür played for Austria in the Men's Chess Mitropa Cup:[4]

  • In 1982, at first board in the 7th Chess Mitropa Cup in Bourgoin-Jallieu (+2, =3, -1) and won team bronze medal.

Arne Dür played for Austria in the Clare Benedict Chess Cups:[5]

  • In 1979, at reserve board in the 23rd Clare Benedict Chess Cup in Cleveland (+0, =1, -2).

In 1982, Arne Dür was awarded the FIDE International Master (IM) title.
