Ambroise Wonkam is a Medical doctor, a scholar, and professor of genetic science from Cameroon and practitioner in South Africa.

Biography
Education
Ambroise Wonkam was born in Cameroon. He went to the faculty of medicine and biomedical sciences of the University of Yaoundé I.[1]
He got a PhD from the University of Geneva in Switzerland in the Department of Morphology on the topic "Fardeau de la derpanocytose et diagnostic génétique prénatal au Cameroun".[2]

Ambroise Wonkam is a medical practitioner in African and European countries. He is a professor at the faculty of medicine at the University of Cape Town.[3] He manages the African society of human genetics.
Sequencing millions of African DNAs
Ambroise Wonkam is promoter of a project that aims to sequence, in 10 years time, the DNA of 3 millions of Africans. This multi-billion dollar project should be financed by African countries.[4]
