Alice Naylor-Leyland

Naylor-Leyland was born in Switzerland[3] and is the daughter of Paul Dawson and Serena Fresson.[1] Naylor-Leyland grew up in London and went to Garden House Day School. Her parents divorced when she was two months old[4] and she was raised by her mother,[5] who is from Melbourne, Australia.[4] She spent holidays with her father in Switzerland.[4] She attended Heathfield School, a boarding school in Ascot.[6] She studied history at Edinburgh University and fashion at Istituto Marangoni in London.[3][7] Her mother later remarried and Naylor-Leyland took up residence in her stepfather's London hotel, 11 Cadogan Gardens.[8][9]

Naylor-Leyland runs her own blog, Mrs.Alice, focusing on fashion, lifestyle, and motherhood.[10] Her Instagram has over 110,000 followers.[11] She is a contributing editor for American Vogue and Harper's Bazaar, writing articles on fashion, travel and lifestyle.[12][13][14][15][16] In 2017 Naylor-Leyland partnered with Aerin Lauder to create a limited edition perfume called Garden Rose Eau de Cologne, inspired by Naylor-Leyland's rose garden.[17][18][19][20] She has designed two shoe collections for the company French Sole.[21][22][23]

She also works as a brand collaborator with fashion brands like Tory Burch and Smythson.[24][25]

Her interior design has been featured in Architectural Digest.[26][27]

In November 2019 Alice launched her own housewares brand.[28][29][30]

Naylor-Leyland met her husband, Thomas Philip Naylor-Leyland, who is the son and heir of Sir Philip Naylor-Leyland, 4th Baronet, through their mutual friend Francis Richard Charteris, Lord Elcho, the son of James Charteris, 13th Earl of Wemyss, when she was seventeen years old at a party in Gloucestershire.[9][31] They started dating when she was 21 and married when she was 24.[4] They have three children; Billy, Nancy, and Felix.[9][32] Her husband is the heir to his father's baronetcy and estates, Nantclwyd Hall and Milton Hall.[33] The couple currently reside at Stibbington House in Cambridgeshire, and a flat in Chelsea, London.[34] Naylor-Leyland oversaw the renovation and restoration of Stibbington House, which has been in her husband's family since the 1970s.[27]
