Aimal Wali Khan

Aimal Wali Khan (Pashto: اېمل ولي خان) (Born November 18, 1986) is Pashtun nationalist politician who is the provincial president of the Awami National Party (ANP) for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.[1] He is the son of the central president of ANP, Asfandyar Wali Khan; the grandson of the founder of ANP, Khan Abdul Wali Khan; and the great-grandson of the founder of the Khudai Khidmatgar movement, Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan.[2][3]

Education

He completed his early education from Fazl-e-Haq school and College Mardan and then A-levels from Atchison College Lahore. He also holds degree of (Master of Business Administration MBA).

Political career

Aimal Wali Khan started his political career in 2007 as a worker of Pakhtun Students’ Federation (PSF). He remains associated with the student wing till 2011. Awami National Party holds their intraparty Elections after every four years, Aimal Wali Khan was elected as Joint Secretary in the mid of 2011, Afrasiab Khattak was leading the provincial cabinet at that moment. In 2014, Aimal Wali Khan was elected as Provincial Deputy General Secretary for four years. He also served as an acting General Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In 2019, his name was suggested for the Provincial President and no one opposed him. His name was suggested by the then Provincial President and Ex-Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haider Khan Hoti. He was elected as Provincial President ANP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on April 12, 2019. Aimal Wali Khan also holds the Directorship of Baacha Khan Trust. He contested his first Electoral contest from his native constituency PK-58 Charsadda III, he got 22, 038 votes.[4]

He also writes articles[5] in the prominent newspapers of Pakistan on the political issues of the country. He is also in outspoken and bold voice against the Extremism and Terrorism in Pakistan.[6]
