Adam J. Bass

Bass is the former second in command at Ameriquest Mortgage,[1] and is the current CEO of Buchalter Law.[2] His career history including serving as CEO Abington/Emerson Investments, and as a Mortgage broker, real estate, hospitality entrepreneur with interests in oil and gas, as well as a Former Board Member of the Buckley School. Bass also served as Vice Chairman of Ameriquest Mortgage.[3] Bass gained prominence when he settled a lawsuit against Ameriquest with all 50 states attorney generals for $325 million.[4] Buchalter later opened an office in San Diego, and pursued the acquisition of Ater Wynne. [5]
Career
Bass chairs Buchalter's family office and wealth management practice group and co-chairs the social media influencers industry group. His practice includes representation of companies of all sizes and financial institutions in both transactional and litigation matters. Bass handles general business matters for corporate clients, and his experience includes corporate, loan workouts, creditors’ rights, real property, labor relations, public contracting and regulatory compliance. He joined Buchalter in 1993 and has led the firm since 2013.[6]
His prior positions include the office of Vice Chairman of ACC Capital Holdings, of which Ameriquest was a subsidiary. During the investigation into Ameriquest's mortgage activities, Senator Vincent Ford of Georgia accused Bass and ACC's subsidiary, Ameriquest of "victimizing poor minorities".[7] Bass defended the employees of ACC Capital and Ameriquest during the ensuing shut-down negotitations, say that it was going well, and was an affirmation of the "hard work and dedication of our employees."[8]
