Ziaur Rahman Barq

Zia ur Rehman Barq is an Indian politician and Member of the 18th Uttar Pradesh Assembly since 10 March 2022 from Kundarki representing the Samajwadi Party.[1][2][3] He is the son of Mamlook Ur Rahman and He is the grandson of the well known senior most Indian leader Shafiqur Rehman Barq, who has been Member of Parliament for 5 times, and Member of Legislative Assembly for 4 times from Sambhal.[4][5]

Political career

Before 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, he was member of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen.[6]

Controversies

Ziaur Rahman's father Mamlook Ur Rahman congratulated the Taliban over their controversy in the 2021 Taliban offensive.[7][8] A complaint was filed over Ziaur for breaking the election rules.[9][10]
