West Ta East (غرب به شرق) is an Afghan reality series based on the lives of Rohina & Ramiz King and other celebrities. The series focuses on the day-to-day of socialites who are challenged to leave their luxurious Western lives and move back to Afghanistan, trying to relate to ordinary Afghans in a war-torn country. The series is reported to be an adaption of Kourtney and Kim Take New York & The Simple Life.[1][2][3][4]

Ramiz King (Born August 19, 1996) is an Afghan Australian Media Personality, Producer & Entrepreneur. Ramiz is best known to be a Reality Television Personality on MTV India and Afghan Industry.[5][6] Ramiz was born in Kabul, Afghanistan to Kazim Rahim Shah and he has an elder sister Rohina. The siblings gained fame through their comical skits on social media & vlog coverage of Aryana Sayeed’s Proposal[7] which led them to 'BaChashem' the Afghan remake of Bigg Boss on Zan TV in 2018 which was co-produced by Ramiz King.[8]

Career

Ramiz has appeared on two Indian television shows, MTV Love School 4 & Ace of Space 2 in 2019 and he was reportedly a "popular participant".[9] King is also an original and dominant Reality Star of Afghanistan.[5]

Controversies
  • Kiss scandal: Ramiz was kissed by a girl on national television while he was in a committed relationship with Gizelle Basiri.[10][11]
  • Unfair eviction: He was evicted from Ace of Space 2 by Vikas Gupta on the basis of violence which later was speculated by viewers to be a biased ruling.[10]
  • Legal: Ramiz was selected for a Colors TV show called Mujhse Shaadi Karoge opposite Shehnaaz Gill and Bigg Boss which didn’t transpire due to Coronavirus restrictions.[7][12]
  • Tattoo disagreement: Gizelle, Ramiz King’s partner got his name tattooed on MTV Love School but he reportedly refused to do it.[13]

Rohina (Born, June 6) is an actress and artist, predominantly known for her Music Videos with Pav Dharia on their hit song, Teri Yaadan. Her work has received over 30 million views on YouTube and she was deemed as one of the most likeable contestant on the Afghan Bigg Boss in 2019. In 2022, she decided to bring a change in her lifestyle and started to cover up in a hijab to promote modesty.

Humayoon Shams Khan (born February 22, 1991) is an Afghan-born Canadian actor, model, presenter, and producer best known for Torbaaz and Shiddat. He appears as the reunion host in West Ta East.

Ramiz King also leaves to go to Thailand to do some major cosmetic surgery after what went down in Episode 2.
