Wesley Timoteo

Wesley Thomas Lanca Timoteo (born April 9, 2000) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Canadian Premier League club FC Edmonton, on loan from HFX Wanderers.

Early life

Timoteo was born and raised in Montreal.[1] At the age of fourteen, Timoteo moved to Lisbon and joined the academy of Primeira Liga side Belenenses.[1] He later spent time in the academy of Estoril.[2]

Club career

PO Xylotympou

In 2020, Timoteo signed with Cypriot First Division side PO Xylotymbou, making twenty league appearances and one appearance in the Cypriot Cup that season.[3]

HFX Wanderers

Ahead of the 2022 season, Timoteo trialed with Canadian Premier League club HFX Wanderers, who signed him and immediately loaned him to fellow CPL club FC Edmonton.[2]

Loan to FC Edmonton

It looked to be a very difficult season for Edmonton, as the club was undergoing serious financial problems, so most of its roster was made up of loanees like Timoteo. He made his professional debut in the Eddie's first match of the season, contributing with an assist in a 1-1 draw with Valour FC.[4]

International career

In February 2016, Timoteo participated in an evaluation camp for the Canadian U-17 national team.[1]
