Wen Gao
Gao Wen (born in Dalian, Liaoning Province of P. R. China on March 7, 1956) is a Chinese computer engineer,[1] the Boya Chair Professor at Peking University,[2] Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.[3] He is now the Director of Peng Cheng Laboratory.[4]

Education
Gao Wen received B.S. degree, M.S. degree, and Ph.D. degree of computer science from Harbin University of Science and Technology in 1982, 1985, 1988 respectively, and Ph.D. degree of electronics engineering from the University of Tokyo in 1991, Tokyo, Japan.[2]
Research
He is known for his research in artificial intelligence, especially in multimedia data compression, computer vision, pattern recognition and image processing, multi-modal interfaces and virtual reality.[4] He is the head of Chinese audio video coding standard working group supported by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.[5]
