History
The Battenfeld Spanier family winery was taken over by Hans-Oliver Spanier in 1990 as agricultural mixed farm. The bottling of their own wines started in 1921.[3] Soon he realized that top quality wines shall be the objective of his estate, when he tried a 1990 Silvaner dry from Heyl zu Herrnsheim.[3]
