Waker-uz-Zaman
Waker-uz-Zaman (Bengali: ওয়াকার-উজ-জামান; born 16 September 1966) is a Lieutenant General of Bangladesh Army and Principal Staff Officer to Honourable Prime Minister, Armed Forces Division.[1]

Early life and education
Zaman graduated from Defence Services Command and Staff College. He studied at the Joint Services Command and Staff College in the United Kingdom.[2] He holds a master degree in Defence Studies from Bangladesh and Master of Arts in Defence Studies from King’s College, University of London.[3]
Career
Zaman received his commission in 1985 at the East Bengal Regiment of Bangladesh Army.[2] Zaman taught at the Non-Commissioned Officer’s Academy, School of Infantry and Tactics and Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training. He served in the United Nations Mission in Liberia and United Nations Angola Verification Mission I.[2] Zaman was appointed military secretary to Bangladesh Army Headquarters in 2017.[2] After that he was appointed at 9th Infantry division as GOC and Commander of Savar Area.[4] On 30 November 2020, Zaman was promoted to Lieutenant General and appointed Principal Staff Officer of Armed Forces Division.[5] He is the current chairperson of Bangladesh National Authority for Chemical Weapons Convention.[6] He is a member of the governing body of the National Defence College.[7]
Personal life
Zaman is happily married to Begum Sarahnaz Kamalika Zaman and blessed with two daughters Raisa Zaman & Shayeera Ibnat Zaman.[3] He is the son-in-law of late General Mustafizur Rahman, who served as the army chief from December 24, 1997 to December 23, 2000.[8]
