Wagle Ki Duniya – Nayi Peedhi Naye Kissey
Wagle Ki Duniya - Nayi Peedhi Naye Kissey (literally meaning 'Wagle's World – New Generation New Stories') is an Indian sitcom that premiered on 8 February 2021 on Sony SAB. It is based on characters created by noted cartoonist, R. K. Laxman, especially the common man about the issues of the common middle-class Indian man and serves as a sequel to Wagle Ki Duniya which aired on Doordarshan. It stars Sumeet Raghavan as Rajesh Srinivas Wagle, a manager in a courier company named P2P Glocal, Pariva Pranati as his wife, Vandana Sinha Wagle, Sheehan Kapahi and Chinmayee Salvi as their children, Atharva Rajesh Wagle and Sakhi Wagle respectively.[1]

Overview
The show is based around the daily struggles of courier company manager Rajesh Srinivas Wagle, who lives with the prudence of a middle-class person of the time. The show presents the everyday struggles of the people from three generations and multiple families from their perspectives acting like a members of a single family. They try to clear the struggles between everyone acting like a whole.
The show gives social message in most of its episodes through humor and emotions.

- Sumeet Raghavan as Rajesh Wagle. A first-class manager of a courier service company P2P Glocal Max, Vandana's husband, Sakhi and Atharva’s father, Srinivas and Radhika's son, Harshad's friend, Dakshesh's friendly rival. He loves his family and wants to hold them together. He often has weird daydreams which results in embarrassment. The only people he despises are Maya and Harry from his office, who try to come up with various tricks to give him tension and competition. When he gets indecisive, he asks the person who is standing with him to choose one of his fingers as an option. He always explains things practically with examples. He always tries to solve things without fighting and always helps others. He is an honest man. He had a love marriage with Vandana. He comes up with different and interesting games. He had a crush on his childhood friend Madhura (2021–present).
- Pariva Pranati as Vandana Wagle. She is Rajesh's wife, Sakhi and Atharva's mother, Srinivas and Radhika daughter-in-law, Jyoti and Yamini's neighbour and friend, Mahadevi's niece and Deviprasad's daughter. She was a homemaker earlier but now is a self employed woman. She deals with every problem calmly and is kind-hearted. She loses her temper at Atharva whenever he troubles her but loves him a lot. She was a chef before marriage, but left her job because she kept in mind her duties towards her family. She is an orphan and was raised by her uncle and aunt. She has done an M.A. in English Literature. She always had a dream to become a chef. (2021–present).
- Anjan Srivastav as Srinivas Wagle. Radhika's husband, Rajesh and Manoj's father, Vandana's father-in-law, Sakhi and Atharva's grandfather and Anna's brother-in-law. His fondness toward his old things irritates his wife, Radhika. He sometimes asks silly questions to Radhika and Vandana. He often compares Borivali to his beloved hometown Dadar. His catchphrase is "see the fun". He is generous, kind and helpful. He had a tiff with Anna, who opposed Rajesh's love marriage, but now things are sorted (2021–present).
- Bharati Achrekar as Radhika Wagle. Anna's sister, Srinivas' wife, Rajesh and Manoj's mother, Vandana's mother-in-law, and Sakhi and Atharva's grandmother. She is fed up with her husband's love for his old possessions but loves him nonetheless. She wanted to be a soap opera actress in her childhood, but her father did not give her permission(2021–present).
- Chinmayee Salvi as Sakhi Wagle. Rajesh and Vandana's daughter, Atharva's elder sister, Srinivas and Radhika's granddaughter, and Gungun's best friend. She is kind, intelligent and responsible, and a rebellious teenager. She is named after Rajesh's school-time crush Madhura whom he fondly called Sakhi. Rajesh, being an overprotective father, doesn't like that she has a crush on her friend Vivaan. She is sometimes ill-influenced by her classmate Anvita who is Vivaan's girlfriend and is jealous of the fact that Vivaan is getting closer to Sakhi (2021–present).
- Sheehan Kapahi as Atharva Wagle. Rajesh and Vandana's son, Sakhi's younger brother, Srinivas and Radhika's grandson, and Vidyut's sworn brother and best friend. He is a mischievous yet intelligent boy. He is the family's troublemaker and often draws unwanted conclusions from the elder's teachings. He dearly loves his family and is a fan of Salman Khan (2021–present).

- Deepak Pareek as Honourable Secretary Advocate Dakshesh Joshipura aka Dakku Bhai/Dakk/ Joshipure: the stubborn secretary of Sai Darshan Heights Society, Yamini's husband, Rajesh and Harshad's friendly rival, Kittu's adoptive father. He and his family are Gujaratis. He annoys everyone due to his pedantic nature. If anyone disobeys societal rules, he says, "Rules Matlab Rules, Follow Na Kare Te Fools." He has a love-hate relationship with Harshad and Rajesh, although he regards the latter's wife Vandana as a goddess. Dakshesh's catchphrase was changed by his wife Yamini to "Rules Matlab Rules, Follow Na Kare Te Fools, Fools Go Back To Schools!" He uses weird tongue twisters and sometimes says Hindi words that are too formal and often not understood by others. He loves his wife Yamini a lot and is the only one who approves of her weird poems. Though he always fights with Rajesh and Harshad, he is actually a caring person and cares for them a lot. He regrets not having a child like Rajesh and Harshad. He is affectionately called Dakku Bhai by everyone. (2021–present).
- Mansi Joshi as Dr. Yamini Mehta Joshipura (née Mehta) aka Yam/Yami: Dakshesh's wife and Naivedya's elder sister, Kittu's adoptive mother. She is a theatre artist. She often quotes boring and irritating dialogues from Hindi and Gujarati plays, which no one except Dakshesh likes. Yamini often regrets that she does not have children like Jyoti and Vandana. Yamini always ends the quote, and dialogues by repeating the last words/phrases, and does not stop until anyone claps. She calls Kittu as Pari out of affection(2021–present).
- Amit Soni as Harshad Agrawal: one of the Wagles' neighbours, Rajesh's good friend, Dakshesh's friendly rival, Jyoti's husband, Gungun and Vidyut's father, Trupti's ex-boyfriend. He is a rich but egotistic stock market trader. He often uses corrupted methods to gain profit in business and lands in trouble, from which he is always saved by Rajesh and thus considers him as his mentor. He is helpful but a little arrogant about his money. In his youth, he had a girlfriend called Trupti whom he could not marry because of her father. He often talks while eating mouth fresheners, which sounds like mumbling and is understood only by his wife Jyoti. He always fights with Dakshesh and often calls him Jhaalar. The Agrawals are Marwaris. He often bosses Jyoti as he thinks that men are superior to women. He is conservative about his daughter Gungun as she has a crush on Shekhar (who is from a poor family) and wants her to marry Soumil, a rich boy who is Trupti's nephew. He was in love with Trupti, who was his Garba partner (2021–present).
- Bhakti Chauhan as Jyoti Gupta Agrawal (née Gupta): Bankelal's daughter, Harshad's wife, Gungun and Vidyut's mother. She always translates what Harshad is saying whenever he is eating mouth fresheners (which sounds like mumbling and no one but her can understand). She is helpful and often shows off her and her family members' luxury. She is Vandana's friend. She is innocent and her husband often forces her to obey all his orders as he thinks that men are superior to women. She always keeps her purse full of unusual objects. She pampers her son Vidyut a lot and says "Wah mere lal" while praising him. Her English does not make sense as she uses words that sound the same as what they should be but have a completely different meaning (2021–present).
- Hitanshu Nagia as Vidyut Agrawal: Harshad and Jyoti's son, Gungun's younger brother, Atharva's sworn brother and best friend. He, just like his mother, loves to show off his luxury, and often makes fun of Atharva about the punishments he gets for causing trouble or pranking. He is a fan of Tiger Shroff (2021–present).
- Prapti Shukla as Gungun Agrawal: Jyoti and Harshad's daughter, Vidyut's elder sister and Sakhi's friend. She is a helpful girl but sometimes gets influenced by her friend circle. She has a crush on Shekhar, her friend (2021–present).
- Charmi Dhami played Gungun Agrawal in Episode 9. She was later replaced by Prapti Shukla (2021)
- Suryakant Govale as Chandu Parab: a staff member in Rajesh's courier office who always helps him. People are annoyed listening to his English (2021–present).
- Nayan Shukla as Sandeep Dasani: a staff member in Rajesh's courier office. He is lazy towards his office work. He always thinks about food. He always eats food from everyone's tiffin and makes weird kissing noise through his lips. He is a cunning, selfish, mischievous yet funny person who is sometimes jealous of Rajesh and always tries to cause trouble in the office as well as taking credit for work done by others. He also does sycophancy in front of Maya(2021–present).
- Anju Jadhav as Kiara Tejwani: daughter of Tejwani Sir (company's owner). She is the new CEO of the courier service P2P Glocal. She is cold-hearted and gets angry quickly but is sometimes sweet. She understands the employees' problems, but sometimes get a bit cranky if Rajesh asks leaves constantly. After the BRS bank scam, she sold the company to Harry Khatri, owner of the Glocal Packers company (2021–present).
- Vinayak Ketkar as Manish Marfatia: hotel manager of Treat Resort, situated in Silvassa. He always says "I know, I know", even when he does not know anything. He is an honest man. He loves Munmun. He later resigns as the resort manager and joins P2P Max Courier Service Company as Treat Resort does not allow couples to work together. He is the youngest child of his parents (2021–present).
- Khushali Jariwala as Munmun Chatterjee: Catering manager at Treat Resort. She gives the leftover food to poor people. She was often accused of theft by Dakshesh when his family, Harshad's family and Rajesh's family were living there due to lockdown. She loves Mr Marfatia (2021–present).
- Mukesh Choudhary as Puneet: a staff member in Rajesh's courier office who has a crush on a staff girl, Isha. (2021–present)
- Kervi as Isha: a staff member in Rajesh's courier office. She is in love with Puneet. Isha mostly ignores the love signals sent by Puneet in public (2021–present).
- Preeti Kochar as Mahadevi Tripathi: Vandana's aunt, Rajesh's mother-in-law, Sakhi and Athrav's maternal grandmother. She brought up Vandana with her husband when she was orphaned. She wants Vandana to do a job, and she is constantly telling her to take up a job, so that she too can financially contribute to the family, and become the second bread-earner (2022).
- Urmila Katkar as Asha: Sai Darshan Heights Society's maid and Komal's mother. She has an extremely gossipy tongue and is trying to learn English. Rajesh often mistakes her as Vandana and often addresses her as Vandurani (which he uses for Vandana) to which she replies "Vandurani nahi, Asha Rani" (2021–present).
- Satyavrat Mudgal as Tiwari: Sai Darshan Height Society's watchman to whom Dakshesh scolds even for small issues (2021–present).
- Namit Shah as Vivaan aka Viv: Sakhi's college friend and Anvita's boyfriend. He was brought up in the USA. Rajesh suspects him to be Sakhi's boyfriend, which he is not, but Sakhi does have a crush on him. He is helpful and has a positive attitude. He speaks bad Hindi which has completely different meanings to what he actually wants to say, and is often corrected by Rajesh (2021–present).
- Ambar Bedi as Maya Ahlawat: Vandana's college friend, Rajesh's rival and P2P Glocal Packers staff member. Earlier she was a journalist and unintentionally created a rift between Vandana and her mother-in-law Radhika but later Rajesh and his friends taught her a lesson, after which she mended her ways. However, a few days later she was fired from her job and was also divorced, so she joined P2P Glocal Packers in order to avenge Rajesh as she blames him for her fate. After this, she always tries to get Rajesh and his colleagues in trouble.(2021–present).
- Riya Soni as Anvita: Vivaan's girlfriend and Sakhi's college friend. She always wants to seek Vivaan's attention and is insecure about his friendship with Sakhi. She sometimes ill-influences Sakhi out of jealousy (2021–present).
- Prabhakar Sinha as Arjun Swaroop: hotel staff and junior to Marfatia at Treat Resort. He is also an honest man (2021).
- Suhail Iqbal as Tejwani Sir: Rajesh's boss and Kiara's father. He is the previous owner of P2P Max courier service company but is now retired and a divorcee. The company is now run by his daughter Kiara (2021).
- Vikas Grover as Harry Khatri: He is the owner of the courier service P2P Glocal. He is mean and tries to create troubles for Mr Wagle and Ms. Kiara, mostly in association with Maya, who is the manager of his company Glocal courier service, which later merged with P2P max to form P2P Glocal courier service company (2022).
- Ajji as Rajesh Wagle’s distant mausi from his village, who is very conventional in her thinking and always taunts innovative thinking when visits Sai Darshan Heights society.
- Mahi Soni as Kittu/Rakhi Joshipura, a girl child that reaches Sai Darshan Heights after escaping from a child trafficking gang who abducted her from an orphanage. She was sent on a mission with another woman, but the woman took pity on her and let her escape. She has been rescued and Dakshesh and Yamini have legally adopted her.
Guest appearances
- Nimisha Vakharia as Rekha Gondhalekar. Radhika's old maid. She won a lottery of ₹50 million, and became immensely rich after leaving Radhika's place. Even though Rekha's family persuades her to forget that she was a maid one time, she does not agree.
- Deven Bhojani as Balkrishna "Anna" Gokhale: Radhika's elder brother who fought with Srinivas for 18 years. He wanted Rajesh to marry a Maharashtrian girl and was against the love marriage of Rajesh and Vandana as she is a Bihari and accidentally taunted him for the same. Srinivas broke his relationship with him. But later, Anna realises that Vandana is a perfect wife and, more than that, now a dedicated Maharashtrian housewife. He ties his bonds with Srinivas again and thus, things get sorted.
- Amita Khopkar as Dr. Priya Ahuja and Randeep Walia's mother.
- Manas Shah as Randeep Walia: popular TV actor and Dr. Priya Ahuja's younger brother who came to Treat Resort for shooting. His sister was a look-alike of Sakhi. His sister died due to COVID-19. He plays the role of Aditi's (played by Yamini) brother-in-law in one of his serials.
- Kalpesh Chauhan as Gulaab Das Rawal. He, too, is an owner of Treat Resort. He is a middle-class businessman. He demanded ₹3 billion from Wagles.
- Ojas Rawal as Nivedya Mehta: Yamini's younger brother and Dakshesh's brother-in-law. He is the owner of Treat Resort, situated in Silvassa. He makes fun of Dakshesh and all the Sai Darshan Heights residents. He only cares about his sister and the one who gives him money. He calls Dakshesh as 'Mendakshesh'.
- Vinay Yedekar as Ashwin Chitre: Rajesh's best friend who established a business in Dubai and hadn't talked to him for years.
- Simran Khanna as Monica Palekar/Sukanya Palekar: Rajesh's childhood friend and Sudhir's daughter who was a fat girl but changed herself completely after Rajesh once commented on her.
- Payal Sharma as Niyati: director of Dishwasher's ad, for which she selected Radhika and Vandana.
- Amit Verma as Nikhilesh Agarwal aka Nick: Harshad's cousin and Jyoti's brother-in-law. He lives in America and came to India for arrange marriage with Kiara.
- Karan Grover as Arnav Sachdev. He starred with Vandana and Radhika in an advertisement.

Production
The show is produced by Jamnadas Majethia and Aatish Kapadia of Hats Off Productions. The show was first teased featuring Sumeet Raghavan on Sony SAB's official YouTube channel on 5 December 2020.[2] The show has been given a special COVID-19 touch.[3]
The shooting of the show was halted in April 2021 after eight people reportedly tested positive for COVID-19. Fresh episodes started airing on 26 April, with episodes being shot in Silvassa. Towards the end of June, shooting restarted in Mumbai.[4]
In August 2021, Deven Bhojani was cast, reprising his role of Anna from SAB TV's previous series, Bhakarwadi.

- The Big Shanivaar is Mahasangam (crossover) of all Sony SAB (except Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah) shows telecasting at that time on 9 October 2021 to promote Sony SAB telecasting their shows on Saturday also.
- The Big Shanivaar is Mahasangam (crossover) of all Sony SAB (except Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah) shows telecasting at that time on 20 November 2021 on the occasion of Diwali in Parakram SAF (Ziddi Dil Maane Na) and to help its Cadet Koel Roy in escaping from her husband.
- Shaam Shaandar is the New Year special, a one-hour special episode on 31 December 2021 along with Ziddi Dil Maane Na and Maddam Sir.
