VeriFace

VeriFace is a face recognition software package developed by Lenovo, and was the first face verification technology available on a public computer.

Instead of passwords, VeriFace identifies users by matching unique features of individual faces to photographs taken by the 1.3-megapixel webcam. It was reported that the version available in 2009 could be fooled by holding up a photograph of the individual in front of the webcam, and therefore offers only limited security in the default configuration.[1][2]

VeriFace is included on some new IdeaPad notebooks and netbook, and currently only works on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8. It does not work on previous versions of Microsoft Windows and has not been updated to work on Windows 10.[3]
