The following is a timeline of events during the Israeli–Palestinian conflict in 2022.
January

At least 2 rockets were fired towards Tel Aviv from Gaza. The rockets exploded in the sea. No injuries or damage were reported. Military groups in Gaza claimed the incident was accidental and that it was “caused by weather conditions".[1][2]
January 3
Shots were fired by Palestinian gunmen from Gaza towards southern Israeli communities. Tensions heightened along the border as it was the third attack from Gaza that week, although no injuries or damage were reported.[3]
January 13
2 Israeli officers, Maj. Ofek Aharon and Maj. Itamar Elharar, were accidentally killed by another soldier near the Nabi Musa base. They had been mistaken for attackers after they fired into the air at a suspected assailant.[4]

January 23
Palestinian Islamic Jihad held a demonstration in Gaza where dozens of protesters chanted “Death to the House of Saud” and waved posters of the leader of Yemen’s Houthi militia. Hamas condemned the demonstrations.[6]
February

Attempted drive-by shooting attack towards an IDF post near Nablus was reported. No soldiers were injured in the attack.[7]
Feb 3, Israeli Border Police troops came under heavy gunfire and IEDs during dawn arrests in the West Bank town of Tubas.
On February 9, an anti-aircraft missile launched from Syria exploded over Israeli airspace. No physical injuries were reported. In response, the IDF struck Syrian radar and anti-aircraft batteries responsible for launching missiles at Israeli aircraft. One Syrian soldier was killed, and a few others were injured.[8][9]
15 February
Palestinian Nahad Amin Barghouti from Kafr Ein was killed by IDF soldiers. According to security forces he and a group of friends had been throwing stones at the soldiers, who responded by using riot control techniques, which killed Barghouti. Palestinian witnesses admitted they had thrown stones but criticized the IDF interpretation as taking the situation out of context.[10]
March
March 4
Australia designates Hamas in its entirety to be a terrorist organization, in contrast to the previous stance that only recognized the group's military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades as such.[11]

Two Israeli border police soldiers were stabbed at the entrance to Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem. The Ramallah-born attacker was shot dead.[12]
March 22
Arab Israeli Mohammed Abu al-Kiyan carried out a stabbing and vehicle-ramming attack outside a shopping center, killing four people and injuring two others. He was shot and killed by a bus driver.[13] Kiyan was a convicted Islamic State supporter and had been arrested in 2015 for attempting to join the terrorist group in Syria.[14]
March 27
Two gunmen killed two officers and wounded two others in Hadera before they were killed.[15][16] The two terrorists were Arab Israeli cousins from Umm al-Fahm.[17] One of them had previously attempted to join IS forces in Syria, and had served 18 months in prison.[18] The Islamic State claimed responsibility.[19]
March 29
A 26-year old Palestinian man killed 5 people in a mass shooting in the streets of Bnei Brak.[20][21] The attacker was killed by the police, and an Arab Israeli officer later died of wounds sustained during the gunfight.[22] The al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack.[23][24]
