The Killer_A Girl Who Deserves to Die (Korean: 더 킬러_죽어도 되는 아이) is a 2022 South Korean film directed by Choi Jae-hoon, starring Jang Hyuk as the titular character. It is adapted from a popular novel The Kid Deserves to Die written by Bang Ji-ho.[1]

Plot

Bang Ui-gang is a retired professional killer living a leisurely life with his wife. One day he is suddenly entrusted to take care of a teenage girl when his wife and her best friend decide to go on a trip together and leave the latter's daughter in his care. When Ui-gang uses a little violence to protect the girl, he gets entangled in a trafficking and murder case.

Principal photography began on June 25, 2021 and filming wrapped up in October 2021.

Release

The film makes its world premiere at the 24th Udine Far East Film Festival on 23 April 2022.[2][3] It is slated to be released in South Korea in July 2022 and has already been pre-sold to 23 countries in Europe and Asia.[4]
