Tamale Interchange
The Tamale Interchange is a road interchange project initiated in 2019, aimed at enhancing inter-urban and national traffic flow and reducing the huge burden and cost of doing business, and also strengthening trade within the Sub Saharan regions.[1] This project is funded under the $2 billion China Syno-hydro deal, expected to be completed within 24 months and has, since June 2020, been 40% completed. The president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, launched and also cut the sod for the construction of the Tamale Interchange to begin on April 10, 2019.[2] The Tamale interchange project has associated challenges as it is not completed. Its construction has caused a lot of roads to be blocked thereby increasing traffic in the area.[3]
