Tabor, Colorado

History

Tabor was founded sometime prior to 1951, and is located near a siding on the Union Pacific Railroad, adjacent to the town of Canfield.[2] The rail line was built in the early 1870s by the Denver & Boulder Valley Railroad to connect Boulder and Brighton. The D&BV was acquired by the Union Pacific in 1898.[3] The rail line has been owned since 2009 by the Regional Transportation District.[4]

The post office in Canfield served Tabor addresses from 1878 to 1906. The post office in Lafayette has served Tabor addresses since 1906.[5][6]
