Tár is an upcoming drama film written and directed by Todd Field, starring Cate Blanchett as the titular character. It is scheduled to be released on October 7, 2022.[1]

Production
It was announced in April 2021 that Cate Blanchett was to star in the film, which will be written and directed by Todd Field.[2][3] In September, Nina Hoss and Noémie Merlant were added to the cast, with Hildur Guðnadóttir hired as the film composer.[4] In an interview, Mark Strong revealed that he had finished filming scenes for the film.[5] In November, it was reported Sophie Kauer, Julian Glover, Allan Corduner, and Sylvia Flote had joined the cast.[1]
