Syria–Venezuela relations

Syria-Venezuela relations are bilateral relations between the Syrian Arab Republic and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Diplomatic relations were established on 17 June 1946.[1] and have been characterized by friendship and cooperation.[2] Syria has an embassy in Caracas and Venezuela has an embassy in Damascus. Under President Hugo Chávez, relations have improved considerably. He visited Syria in 2006 to show his support after its relations soured with the United States.[3]
