It was mostly inspired by the 1920s, as a turbulent time after the end of the First World War.

Marxism was an ideology with a great influence on the artists of that time, even on Suzzane Ferrand.

Her contemporaries were artists Celia Fiennes, Vera Allison, Theodor Baumgartner, Francesco De Rocchi, and William Beattie.[3]
