Super League (virtual sports)

Super League is a virtual sports league founded by Jea Jung – inventor of jBells,[1] owner of Kilo Club,[2] and 4-time heavyweight champion bodybuilder and powerlifter. It is the first sports league using artificial intelligence scoring systems secured by blockchain technology. The world championships are held annually in Las Vegas, Nevada.

History

Jea Jung created the concept of Super League in 2016. The launch event held on July 29, 2017. The second event was held on September 15 and 16 in Las Vegas, which marked the beginning of a rivalry between the International Federation of Body Builders (IFBB)[3] and Super League.

Competition

Athletes compete in four distinct branches: Blood Series, Motor Series, Max Out Series and Official World Record Series.

Blood [ BLD ] - 12 rep max on six movements, six minutes to complete each movement, with one unbroken set to absolute failure. Weight is determined by the athlete. The six movements are squat, bench press, pull ups, overhead press, barbell curls and deadlift. Custom sequencing by the athlete is allowed but deadlifts must be performed last.

Motor [ MTR ] - 21 rep max on six movements, six minutes to complete each movement, with one unbroken set to absolute failure. Weight is determined by the athlete. The six movements are squat, bench press, pull ups, overhead press, barbell curls and deadlift. Custom sequencing by the athlete is allowed but deadlifts must be performed last.

Max Out [ MXO ] - 3 rep max on six movements, six minutes to complete each movement, with one unbroken set to absolute failure. Weight is determined by the athlete. The six movements are squat, bench press, pull ups, overhead press, barbell curls and deadlift. Custom sequencing by the athlete is allowed but deadlifts must be performed last.

Weight Classes

For each series, male and female athletes are divided into weight classes:

Male

  • Light Heavyweight: Up to 180 lbs
  • Cruiserweight: 180 to 210 lbs
  • Heavyweight: 210 to 240 lbs
  • Super Heavyweight: 240 lbs and above

Female

  • Angelweight: Up to 120 lbs
  • Featherweight: 120 to 140 lbs
  • Lightweight: 140 to 160 lbs
  • Middleweight: 160 lbs and above
