Sky City (shopping mall)

Sky City (Chinese: 遠東新世紀購物中心) is a shopping mall located in Zhubei City, Hsinchu County, Taiwan that is planned to open on 23 September 2021.[1] With a total floor area of 141,117 m2 (1,518,970 sq ft), it will become largest shopping mall in Hsinchu County and will be located in close proximity to Hsinchu HSR station. This is the 13th store of the Far Eastern Department Stores company.[2]

History
  • On June 22, 2017, the mall started construction.[3][4]
  • It is expected that on September 23, 2021, Sky City will start operation.[5]

Design

The overall building incorporates the characteristics of Hakka culture, presenting the architectural image of a Hakka walled village, and a sky garden is planned on the ninth level of the mall.[6]
