Sixteenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition
The Sixteenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition will take place in Fort Worth, Texas, USA from June 2 to 18, 2022. It was postponed one year from its regular quadrennial cycle in 2021 due to Covid-19. This edition's theme is "The World is Listening" and celebrates 60 years since its founding in 1962.

Screening auditions
Fort Worth, Texas - PepsiCo Recital Hall, Texas Christian University, March 6–12, 2022
72 applicants accepted for a screening audition chosen from 388 total applicants from 51 countries will be required to give a 25-minute recital before a live audience and the Screening Jury. Unlike the previous competition which also had screening auditions in New York City, Asia, and Europe, this competition's screening auditions are solely in Fort Worth.

30 competitors from 14 countries selected solely on their artistry and announced on March 30, 2022 perform a 40-minute recital, to include the commissioned work Fanfare Toccata of 4–6 minutes by Stephen Hough[1]

18 competitors perform a 40-minute recital
Semifinal round
Fort Worth, Texas - Bass Performance Hall, June 8–12, 2022
12 competitors in two phases:
- 60-minute recital
- Mozart concerto to be selected from a list with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and conductor Nicholas McGegan
Final round
Fort Worth, Texas - Bass Performance Hall, June 14–15 and 17–18, 2022
6 competitors perform two concertos, to be selected from two separate lists, with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and conductor Marin Alsop.
