Sir John Barker, 4th Baronet

Sir John Barker, 4th Baronet (1655 – 14 August 1696)[1] was an English baronet and politician.

He was the second son of Sir John Barker, 2nd Baronet and Winifred Parker, daughter of Sir Philip Parker.[2] In 1665, he succeeded his older brother Jermy as baronet.[2] Barker was educated at Merton College, Oxford.[3] In 1680, he entered the British House of Commons and sat as Member of Parliament (MP) for Ipswich until his death in 1696.[4]

Barker married Bridget Bacon, daughter of Sir Nicholas Bacon.[2] They had a daughter and a son.[2] Barker died at Ipswich in Suffolk[3] and was succeeded in the baronetcy by his only son William.[5]
