Serah Mwihaki

Serah Mwihaki is an actress[1] and character-driven scriptwriter currently working as Partner, Creator and Producer[2] at Wordypix Company. She[3] kicked off her acting career with a lead role in Kenyan Film Dangerous Affairs[4] in 2002. She created TV Series Changes[5] that was adopted by M-NET in 2009, and co-wrote award-winning Kenyan films Nairobi Half Life[6] in 2012 and Kidnapped (2017 Film).[7][8]

Her previous experiences include working for Literal journal Kwani? as a Salesperson, as a Director's runner in the movie the The Constant Gardener in 2005, as a production coordinator at Baraka Films then Urbane Diaspora Productions before joining her current workstation. Serah is a member of the Oscars Selection Committee Kenya (OCSK)[9] and the Kenya Writers Guild.

Education and Early Life

Serah was born in Nairobi and studied at Madaraka Primary School in Thika before joining Alliance Girls High School. She then went on to study Film and TV Production at Media College, Nairobi.

Career

After kicking off acting in Dangerous Affairs, Serah went on to feature in Kenyan drama and soap opera Wingu la Moto[10] between 2003 and 2006, then as an extra in the Garden of Eden in 2008,[11] then in Changes as a School Principal.

After creating and scripting Changes that morphed to Changes II (2010) then Changes III (2011), Nairobi Half Life and Kidnapped (2017 Film), Serah co-writer in TV Series Kona (TV series) (2012), Selina - Telenovela (2018), Crime & Justice (2021).[12] She was the head writer in Singles Kiasi (2021).

When not writing, Serah turns to production which includes Pumzika (2005) and Money or the Cross (2006) and TV Series Tabasamu (2009-2011) while a Production coordinator at Baraka Films. She also produced Kidnapped (2017 Film) with Wordypix Company in collaboration with Machawood Films.
