Seo Min-guk

Seo Min-guk (born September 17, 1991) is a South Korean curler from Yangju, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.[1] He is currently the alternate on Team Jeong Yeong-seok. His team won the 2020 Korean National Men's Curling Championship and represented South Korea at the 2021 World Men's Curling Championship.

Career

Seo represented South Korea at four Pacific-Asia Junior Curling Championships from 2010 to 2013 with his teammates Kim Jeong-min, Jang Jin-yeong, Kim San and Kim Woorammiroo. After missing the playoffs in 2010, the team won three consecutive silver medals in 2011, 2012 and 2013.[2]

In 2021, Seo and his new team of Jeong Yeong-seok, Park Se-won, Kim Jeong-min and Lee Jun-hyung won the 2020 Korean National Men's Curling Championship.[3] After losing the 1 vs. 2 page playoff game, his team defeated Kim Soo-hyuk 8–7 in the semifinal and upset defending champions Kim Chang-min 12–10 in the final.[4] Their win earned them the right to represent South Korea at the 2021 World Men's Curling Championship in Calgary, Alberta[5] where they finished with a 2–11 record.[6]

Seo is a full-time curler.[1]
