Sayat Demissie
Sayat Demissie (Amharic: ሳያት ደምሴ; born 1986) is an Ethiopian singer, actress, former model and fashion designer. She debut career as a modelling at the age of 17, winning the 2004 Ethiopian Beauty Queens in top 20. Aside this, she began acting career in the film Sara (2006). Sayat often noted for her victimization in life scenarios; she reflected her singles issues related on sexual abuse and feminism.

Early life and career
Sayat Demissie was born in 1986 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She is the last of four children in the family. In 2004, she completed high school.[1]
Sayat began her career as a model at the age of 17, leads to winning the 2004 Ethiopian Beauty Queens topped in the best 20. Sayat entered the film industry in 2006 film Sara while working with Tilahun Zewege. She began acting in different films such as Laundry Boy, Selanchi (2009), Adamt (2013) and a Dutch film Der weiße Athioper (2015), which translated as "she is Ethiopian".[2] Thereafter, Sayat debut musical career after releasing an album Kifel Sost Volume 1, containing her hit "Tew Maneh". In 2011, she released "Hasabun Mesrek". After long hiatus, Sayat released comeback titled "Eskesher" on 1 November 2019. Highly sentimental, the song is aesthetic than her past musical career; reflecting verbose of her femininity.[3] In 2021, Sayat joined ensemble musicians like Fikiraddis Nekatibeb, Zeritu Kebede, Kuku Sebsebe, and released a single "Yehager Kasma".
Personal life
Sayat upbringing raised her to be vocal feminist, and positioned herself in victimization. In February 2020 interview with Rakeb and Hanna on EBS Show, she decried her past life including an abduction allegation by Dembidollo University students.[4] Sayat claimed she was raped at teenage while living in Bole district in Addis Ababa. Many people criticized Sayat's statement as invented story to allure sympathy.[5] Her 2019 single "Eskesher" reflected sentimental inflict of her childhood life.[6]
