Sam Van Cook

Samuel Van Cook (born September 11, 1983, Moscow, Idaho) is an American publisher and founder[1] of the publishing company Button Publishing in 2012.[2] Van Cook is also a recipient of the 2012 Verve Grant,[3] a National Poetry Slam champion,[4] a decorated College Slam coach.[5][6][7]

Van Cook graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2012 with fellow grad Sierra DeMulder, with whom he won the National Poetry Slam in 2010[8][9][10] before founding Button Publishing under the DBA Button Poetry. DeMulder went on to become an early member of the team along with Rachele Cermak, Heidi Lear, Dylan Garity, Hanif Abdurraqib, Ryan Kopperud, Yashin Quirk and Riley Lang. They published the works of a number of writers including Hanif Abdurraqib, Sabrina Benaim, Neil Hilborn, Rudy Francisco and Andrea Gibson.
