Family and early life
Cook's father is architect Peter Halsey Cook who once modeled with her mother Christie Brinkley in the 1970s but later re-connected in 1996 and were married.[2] Cook was conceived via IVF and her mother was 44 at the time Cook was born.[3]
Cook's half sister is Alexa Ray Joel who was born to Christie Brinkley and Billy Joel in 1985, and her half brother Jack Paris Brinkley was born in 1995 to Christie Brinkley and real estate developer, Richard Taubman.[2]
Growing up, Cook dreamed of becoming a comedian or a professional athlete.[4] During elementary school, Cook participated in dance lessons but nerves got the better of her and she never performed in the recitals.[4] She started modelling at age 15 after accompanying her mother on shoots and being encouraged to try herself.[4]
Career
Cook received her big break courtesy of a Teen Vogue editorial feature.[5][6][7] Sailor appeared alongside her mother, Christie Brinkley, and half-sister, Alexa Ray Joel, in the 2017 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.[8][6] In 2018, she appeared in the 2018 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.[6][9]
As part of her modelling career Cook has been photographed for publications such as Vogue and Sports Illustrated.[10] She walked the runway at New York Fashion Week in 2019, and has walked for brands such as Dolce and Gabbana.[11][4]
In 2019, Cook performed on Dancing with the Stars USA, filling in for her mother who was injured at the time.[10][4]
