Rusty Mae Moore
Rusty Mae Moore (1941 - 2022) was an American transgender rights activist and educator.[1][2][3] She ran a de facto homeless shelter for transgender people in the 1990s and 2000s, known as the Transy House.[1]
Birth
She was born on October 25, 1941, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh. She grew up in nearby Aliquippa.[4]
Death
According to her wife, she died as a result of cardiovascular complications. She passed away on February 23, 2022 in Pine Hill, New York when she was 80.[5][1]
Personal life
Moore married her wife in 1963.[1]
