Rufous-chested plover

The rufous-chested plover (Charadrius modestus) or rufous-chested dotterel, is a monotypic[2] species of bird measuring 19-22 centimeters in length and weighing between 71 and 94 grams It is part of the family Charadriidae.[3] It breeds in southern parts of Argentina[4] and Chile[5] and on the Falkland Islands.[6] Some birds migrate north in winter, reaching as far as Uruguay,[7] southern Brazil[8] and occasionally Peru.[9] Its natural habitats are temperate grassland[10] and sandy shores.[11]
