The show explores "Scientific controversies and curiosities" and the topics of discussion are varied and include the Moon landing hoax, Bigfoot, Feng Shui and the treatment of hiccups. In keeping with the satirical nature of the show, the opening theme music is often a parody of a well-known melody and performed by the co-host Pat Roach and his wife, Cristina. By November 2012, the podcast was receiving between 4000 and 5000 weekly downloads and has reached the 1 million total download milestone.[7]
TRC won the 2018 "Mixcloud Radio Online Award" ("MORA") in the "Best Online Talk Show" of "Science/Technology" category.[8][9][10] It was referred to as one of the "five science podcasts to expand your mind" by Global News.[11]
