Raymond Kudzawu-D'Pherdd
Raymond Kudzawu-D'Pherdd, (reimɛnd coo-jah-woo-deefɛd) is a versatile Ghanaian,[3] a Geoscientist[4] [5] and an academic.[6] He was the General Secretary of the Ghana Institution of Geoscientists between 2016 and 2019. He was also the General Secretary[7] [8] [9] [10][11] [12] of the Accra Mining Network from 2015 to 2020 and proceded to becoming the AMN Vice President in 2020.[13][14] In his early 20s, he was also an actor: having acted in Augustine Abbey's or Idikoko's "Tricky Twist" and Matters of the Heart. He was also a pioneer student volunteer DJ and Programmes' Host at Voice of Legon, now Radio |Radio Universe at the University of Ghana , Legon. He is currently a member of Convocation at University of Energy and Natural Resources.

Education
Raymond Kudzawu-D'Pherdd had his secondary education at Accra Academy and proceeded to the University of Ghana, where he studied the Earth Sciences and majored in Geology for his undergraduate degree under the fond supervision of Prof. Kodjopa Attoh [15] and others. He was a pioneering student volunteer for the then newly founded Radio Universe during his time at the university and being the only science student amongst the volunteering students, he received guidance and personal tutelage from Prof. Kwame Karikari [16] [17] and Prof. Kwesi Yankah. Kudzawu-D'Pherdd subsequently introduced Prosper Harrison Addo and others to the trade before exiting. He later pursued a Master of Science Degree in Petroleum Geoscience also at the University of Ghana-Legon, and a Master of Science Degree in Industrial Finance and Investment at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology-Kumasi. He is an Australia Awards Scholar, and an alumnus of the Australia National University in Canberra,[18] University of Queensland, Brisbane-Australia University of Pretoria-South Africa, University of Ottawa-Canada and the Ghana Institute of Journalism-Ghana.

Career
Raymond worked with Coffey Mining which is now TetraTech Coffey as field geologist. He also worked for Sahara Natural Resources and Gold Fields as a project geologist and a senior exploration geologist respectively. He currently consults for Geogamut [19], and the University of Energy and Natural Resources. He has worked as an Exploration Geologist in Ghana, Burkina Faso, Mali, Senegal and Nigeria.[20] Till 2021, Raymond Kudzawu-D'Pherdd was also the Head of Department of Industry Value Addition, Beneficiation, ASM, Women & Youth, and Blue Economy at the Minerals Africa Development Institution (MADI) in Kampala, Uganda.[21] [22] [23] He was also a UNDP Development Minerals workshop cardinal participant for Ghana.[24] Kudzawu-D'Pherdd is also an extractives industry blogger/commentator and a columnist for GhanaWeb [25] [26] [27] [28] [29] [30] and is currently with both the School of Mines and Built Environment [31] [32] [33] [34] [35] and the School of Geoscience [36] at the University of Energy and Natural Resources.[37]
