Ravi Jaipuria

Ravi Jaipuria is an Indian billionaire and chairman of RJ Corp.[4][5] He owns fast-food outfit Devyani International, a franchisee for brands such as KFC, Pizza Hut, Costa Coffee and TWG Tea.[6][7] He is referred to as India's cola king.[8][1]

His company, Varun Beverages is the second-largest bottling partner for the US food and beverages company PepsiCo[6] and it got listed on BSE and NSE in 2016.[9]

Ravi studied business management in the United States and returned to India in 1985. He joined the family business as a bottler for Coca Cola.[5] He also holds a minority stake in Medanta, a health care firm.[10]

As of May 2021, Jaipuria has an estimated net worth of approximately $3.2 billion as ranked by Forbes.[9]

Personal life

His wife died in a plane crash in 1985.[5][11] He has two children, one son named Varun and a daughter named Devyani.[6] He hails from a Marwari family.[5]

Recognition

  • Ravi Jaipuria was awarded the Bottler of the Year by PepsiCo in 1999. He received the award from former US President George H. W. Bush.[12][1]
