History

The roller coaster is inspired by the character Puss in Boots from the Shrek film series. The attraction was officially announced on 29 July 2014, by which time construction was nearly completed. Puss in Boots' Giant Journey was opened on 8 April 2015 following a live show starring Puss in Boots himself. It is a family friendly ride that occupies the vacant plot of land between the Far Far Away castle and Waterworld theatre, that is exclusive to Universal Studios Singapore. As the parks' second inverted roller coaster, it is also referred to as nineinverted due to the fact it holds 9 people per ride vehicle.
Pre-show

The exterior entrance of the ride is presented in a very Universal fashion, an attention to detail displaying the ruins of a castle overgrown in ivy. The only thing that looks normal-sized are Humpty (Alexander) Dumpty’s prototype drawings of his flying machines. Moments after entering the queue, the riders head into a giant kitchen, where they board basket shaped vehicles. Then you're met by a large screen in a big golden frame in which Puss in Boots & his feline girlfriend (Kitty Softpaws) introduce you to the story of the ride and tells about them taking the eggs of a giant goose to save the San Ricardo orphanage.
Ride Experience

The suspended roller coaster uses specially designed ride vehicles, of which there are seven unique nameplates based on characters from the film. The vehicle seats up to nine guests in three rows, in a traditional sit-down fashion each with its ow lap bar. The ride on audio system provides each guest with a dedicated speaker to hear sound effect along with the ride experience. The ride first gets “wind” from Puss in Boots using a wine bottle before going up a spiral lift hill. Once at the top, the basket crashes through a wall with Puss in Boots getting confronted by the mother goose. The basket goes down and gets attacked by the chicks creating a deafening noise before speeding to where Puss in Boots reassures the mother goose and celebrates and congratulates the riders on their mission. The basket then returns to the loading station.
