Proposed Milano stadium

The new Milano stadium is a proposed football stadium that could be constructed in Milan[1][2][3] or Greater Milan.[4][5] [6][7]

Background

Plans for a new stadium began in 2012 when Inter indicated that the club needs an own ground.[8] In November[9] 2021 the municipality of Milan gave the official permission to Inter and AC Milan for the construction of a new shared[10] stadium next to Giuseppe Meazza that will be almost totally demolished and refunctionalised after Milano Cortina 2026. In early 2022 Inter and A.C. Milan revealed a "plan B" to relocate the construction of the new Milano stadium in the Greater Milan, away from San Siro area due to problems with "italian bureaucracy"[6][11] and furthermore because the chief of italian IOC[12] in March 2022 said that the existing Giuseppe Meazza will be refurbished and refunctionalised in time for Milano Cortina 2026.[13][9]

Construction

The new stadium could be in Milan or Greater Milan.[14][15] The construction should finish in 2027/2028.[16][17]
