Sheikh Abul Kalam Azad (Nepali politician)

Sheikh Abul Kalam Azad better known by his nickname Phool Babu (Nepali: फूल बाबु) is a Nepalese politician and current Member of the Legislative Assembly from Rautahat 4 (B).[1]

Nepalese local elections, 2017

Just before 2017 Nepalese local elections, Gadhimai Municipality was formed by merging former 6 Village development committees Gamhariya, Samanpur, Sangrampur, Bahuwa Madanpur, Dharampur and Bariyarpur. In 2017 Nepalese local elections he fought election for the Mayor from Gadhimai Municipality from Madhesh-based Party, Rastriya Janata Party Nepal but lost to Nepali Congress Shyam Yadav with large margin.

In 2017 Nepalese provincial elections he was expecting for Ticket from Madhesh-based Rastriya Janata Party Nepal but it was denied. So, he fought as an independent candidate and subsequently won the election by small margin.
