Pearl Initiative

The Pearl Initiative is a non-profit organization founded in 2010 that focuses on corporate accountability and transparency in the Persian Gulf.[1]

The organization publishes reports,[2] and holds regular events.[3][4] It holds annual Case Study Competitions across the Gulf Region.[5][6][7][8][9] The Pearl Initiative has been involved with the Siemens Integrity Initiative, [10][11] and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.[12]

History

The Pearl Initiative was founded in 2010 in conjunction with the United Nations Office for Partnerships[13] to promote higher standards in corporate governance, accountability, and transparency in the Gulf region.[14][15] The organization was granted Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council in 2019.[16] In 2020, the Pearl Initiative launched its updated strategy "PI Vision 2025".[17]
