Pawan Munjal
Dr. Pawan Munjal (Pawan Kant Munjal) is an Indian belonging to the promoter family of Hero group and one of India’s renowned corporate leaders, championing growth, socio-economic progress, and technological innovations. Pawan is the third child of (father) Brijmohan Lall Munjal and (mother) Late Santosh Munjal. He is 67 years old and currently serves as the Chairman, Managing Director & CEO of Hero Motocorp[1] the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters. India Today magazine ranked him #49th in India's 50 Most powerful people of 2017 list.[2]

Personal
Dr. Munjal lives in Delhi with his wife and three children. He is a mechanical engineer by profession. His siblings are the Late Raman Kant, Suman Kant, Geeta Anand and Sunil Kant Munjal.
Early life
Pawan Munjal is a second generation member of the Munjal Family, who has his origins from Punjab. He spent his childhood in Ludhiana and obtained a degree in mechanical engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra in Haryana.
Career
Dr. Pawan Munjal is one of India’s renowned corporate leaders, championing growth, socio-economic progress, and technological innovations. He is the Chairman & CEO of Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters.
Under his leadership, Hero MotoCorp achieved the coveted title of World’s No. 1 two-wheeler company in 2001 and has successfully retained this position for 21 consecutive years. The Company also surpassed the milestone of 100 Million cumulative production and sales in January 2021.
Dr. Munjal has consistently demonstrated visionary leadership to guide Hero MotoCorp, to not just consolidate its leadership status, but also expand its global footprint across multiple continents. Hero MotoCorp currently sells its products in over 42 countries across Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. The company has eight world-class manufacturing facilities, of which six are located in India and one each in Colombia and Bangladesh.
One of the crown jewels of Hero MotoCorp’s ecosystem is its world-class Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) at Jaipur, Rajasthan – a result of Dr. Munjal’s vision to make Hero MotoCorp a globally benchmarked powerhouse of research, design and development. The Company has also set up the Hero Tech Centre Germany GmbH (TCG), near Munich with the objective of building a robust R&D ecosystem that is spread across the globe.
In keeping with the Company's Vision, "Be the Future of Mobility", Dr. Munjal has led Hero MotoCorp to embark on new partnerships with global brands like Harley-Davidson and Gogoro Inc. to develop future-ready and technology-driven mobility solutions.
Hero MotoCorp has rapidly transformed into a true multinational organization, with people from over 10 countries now working in the company. The Company is also championing Diversity & Inclusion and Sustainability initiatives across its global offices. In March 2022, Dr. Munjal unveiled Vida, Powered by Hero, a brand-new identity for emerging mobility solutions, including upcoming Electric Vehicles (EV). He also announced a US$100 Million Global Sustainability Fund with the aim to establish global partnerships with the objective of nurturing more than 10,000 entrepreneurs on ESG solutions that will have a positive impact on the planet.
Dr. Munjal holds executive positions at key Indian industry bodies - Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

Dr. Munjal is also a sports enthusiast. Due to his own personal commitment and passion, Hero MotoCorp is one of the largest corporate promoters of multiple sporting disciplines around the globe, including Golf, Cricket, Field Hockey, Motorsports, and Football. Iconic golfer Tiger Woods is the Global Corporate Partner of Hero MotoCorp.
Pawan Munjal has chaired the apex body of India's automobile sector, besides heading groups on technology & innovation, sports and affirmative action. He is also a member of the World Economic Forum.
