Oshi no Ko
Oshi no Ko (Japanese: 【推しの子】, "Favorite Girl" or "My Idol's Child") is a Japanese manga series written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump since April 2020, with its chapters collected in seven tankōbon volumes as of February 2022. Shueisha publishes the series in English digitally on the Manga Plus platform.

Premise
A doctor and his former patient are reincarnated as their favorite idol's children and they each work to make their way into the entertainment world, following in her footsteps.

Oshi no Ko is written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump since April 23, 2020.[1][2] Shueisha has collected its chapters into individual tankōbon volumes. The first volume was released on July 17, 2020.[3] As of February 18, 2022, seven volumes have been released.[4]
In April 2022, Shueisha began publishing the series in English on the Manga Plus website and mobile app.[5] The series has been licensed in Indonesia by M&C!,[6] in France by Kurokawa[7] and in Italy by Edizioni BD.[8]

Reception
By April 2021, the manga had over 1 million copies in circulation.[15]
Oshi no Ko ranked #11 on Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! list of best manga of 2021 for male readers;[16] it ranked #7 on the 2022 list.[17] The series ranked #4 on the "Nationwide Bookstore Employees' Recommended Comics of 2021" by the Honya Club website.[18][19] The series ranked #13 on the 2021 "Book of the Year" list by Da Vinci magazine.[20]
Oshi no Ko was nominated for the 14th Manga Taishō in 2021 and placed fifth with 59 points;[21][22] it was nominated for the 15th edition in 2022 and placed eighth with 49 points.[23][24] In August 2021, Oshi no Ko won the Next Manga Award in the print category.[25] The manga has been nominated for the 67th Shogakukan Manga Award in the general category in 2021.[26] The manga has been nominated for the 26th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2022.[27] The manga has been nominated for the 46th Kodansha Manga Award in the general category in 2022.[28]
The series ranked #5 on AnimeJapan's 5th "Most Wanted Anime Adaptation" poll in 2022.[29]
