Optima bank launched in July 2019,[11] following the acquisition of Investment Bank of Greece [2][12] (IBG est. in 1999) from Ireon Investments, a subsidiary of MOTOR OIL Group (Hellas).

Investment bank of Greece was a fully licensed Greek financial institution, operating mainly as one of the brokerage firms in Greece, offering a full spectrum of brokerage and investment banking services. Optima bank today, offers retail and corporate banking services and products.
