Opération Pièces jaunes
Operation Yellow Coins (French: Opération Pièces jaunes) is a French foundation legally recognized as being of public utility with a solidarity campaign run every year since its inception in 1989 by professor Claude Griscelli under the aegis of the Fondation des Hôpitaux[1] to improve the conditions of hospitalization of children and adolescents.[2] Its most fervent figure is former first lady of France, Bernadette Chirac,[3] who presided the nation-wide touring fund-raising campaigns from 1994 to 2019.[4] Within its first 30 years, the foundation raised 96 million euros with most public institutions and over a thousand major private entities, companies and schools actively taking part in the campaigns.[5][6]
