Odibets

Odibets is a sports betting platform with operations in Nairobi, Kenya. The platform is licensed and regulated by the Betting Control and Licensing Board.[1][2][3]

History

In 2018, Odibets was founded by Jimmy Kibaki, son of third former president of the Republic of Kenya Mwai Kibaki. It had started operations in Kenya and then grown into other African nations.[4]

In 2020, the company was established in Ghana with a license from the Ghana Gaming Commission (GCG).[5]

In 2021, Odibets started sponsorship with National Amputee football team at Sh 1.5 million deal and the tournament was held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.[6][7]

In the March 2021, Odibets partnered and sponsored Kenya national football team over 1 million US Dollars and become a motivation partner for the Harambee Stars.[8][9]

In July 2021, Odibets partnered with Khaligraph Jones, under their Odimtaani initiative to launch the ‘OdiNare’ rap challenge.[10][11]

In September 2022, Ferdinand Omurwa was sponsored by Odibets, created a new Kenyan and African record by 9.77 seconds and finished second behind American Trayvon Bromell who competed world leading with the timing of 9.77 seconds.[12][13]

December 2021, Odibets has partnered with Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz for his new project WasafiBet, which was a way of giving back to the fans for their support.[14]

Odibets signed brand ambassadors such as Edward Murimi and Charles Odongo (Ugali Man)[15][16] Odibets encouraged and had given him a Sh5 million and raised up Sh9,000 for his cat and a car as part of Odi Mtaani talent development impulsion.[17]
