Nayef bin Fawwaz Al Sha'lan

Nayef bin Fawwaz Al Shaalan Al Ruwaily (born 1956) (Arabic: نايف بن فواز الشعلان) is a Saudi Arabian businessman. He was convicted of drug trafficking in a French court.

Early life

Nayef was educated at University of Miami, where he lived from the late-1970s to mid-1980s. He speaks eight languages.[1]

Business and other positions

Nayef invested in the oil business in Colombia and Venezuela.[1][2][3] He was a high-ranking diplomat.[1]

Personal life

He is a maternal grandson of the founding monarch, King Abdulaziz. Nayef's older brother, Nawaf, is married to a daughter of King Abdullah. Nayef is the twin brother of Saud.[1]

Nayef's father-in-law is Abdul Rahman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Arabia's former deputy minister of defense and aviation who was a member of the powerful Sudairi Seven.[1] Nayef's twin brother Saud is also son-in-law of Prince Abdul Rahman.[1]
